The regular climber is the alter ego of Brian Kraus, this site is an eccentric amalgamation of various disciplines. First and foremost existing to detail the excursions he sets out upon throughout his life, many other useful items of information should also appear here. He hopes you enjoy it and find it beneficial in your daily journey’s.

Many ask where he arrived at the name, and that is a good question. One day several years some approached him while out on a mountain and asked if he climbed regularly. He said “Yes. I usually go to the bathroom about two times per climb.” and the rest is history. You may choose any connotation of the phrase that best suits you and your perception of reality.

Living his whole life in and around Colorado, the regular climber has gathered over thirty years mountaineering experience within his backyard. He has also climbed extensively around the US and Canada as well overseas. Some say he was born with a pair of skis; not entirely true but he has also been skiing Colorado’s slopes for the same length of time. Some time ago a switch was made to snowboarding and nowadays he spends his winter/spring/summer months riding a splitboard in the backcountry powder or scraping his way down the hardpack of the local 14k foot peaks. When not expanding his outdoor knowledge he can be found conducting research into Geospatial methods at Colorado State University as well as building Geospatial technology frameworks and models for the USDA.
